Anyone been watching "Luck" a Michael Mann horse racing series with a few "A" listers in it?

Can anyone explain to me exactly what is going on? I've watched all 6 episodes and have to admit I'm not quite sure where it's heading or where it's going. Plus I do struggle sometimes with the terminology!

I'm not the most intelligent person in the world but I can usually follow films/series etc... But this has got me flummoxed!

I know that the second series has just been cancelled due to a third horse death and that the ratings have been "ok" at best, but I just don't get it.

Unfortunately once I start watching a series I like to watch it till the end to see where it goes, and now that I've invested 6 episodes into it I'll watch it till the end (hoping its only 12).

I also realise that there is around four stories involved and that they will maybe all meet near the end, but..?

I gave up on it when I found out they had cancelled it in USA because of horses being killed in the making of it. No series 2.......DH

There is nine episodes

I started watching Luck and some horses died..I had a tenner on the Grand National and some horses died...Is it me....or am I the Harold Shipman of the horse world..smf

Anyone have an idea who the hooded person with the two armless walkers chained to him/her is in the walking dead that saves Andrea? has been annoying me since i saw the last episode.

The character is called Michonne and she is from the original comic. The two zombies are former friends of hers that she keeps on leashes to help mask her scent from other zombies.

Anyone seen the Brodwalk Empire?
i just watched season one on blu way and was blown away and imo it is better then sopranos which was one of my fave tv shows, for those not in the know its set in 1920's and Chronicles the life and times of Nucky Thompson, the undisputed ruler of Atlantic City, who was equal parts politician and gangster but featues all the big mafi family's and also A barrage of other prominent real life characters like Arnold Rothstein, Lucky Liciano, Al Capone, (Jimmy Darmody?), Johnny Torrio, Senators, Congressmen, President and VP contenders make the show complete and give it a political as well as a mob dimension. look out for scene stealing scouse actor Stephen Graham who has played Tommy in snatch and combo in made in england and now plays Al capone as a mid level gangster working his way up and Michael Kenneth Williams (crazy Omar from the wire)

{Ed001's Note - anybody watch Pramface on BBC last night? Just wondered, it looks like it has the potential to be good, a BBC version of the 'Inbetweeners' possibly? First episode certainly seemed like a good starting point.}

Crap mate not funny one bit...Tries to be like the inbetweeners (which in my opinion is not great anyway) but fails miserably

There should be an Inbetweeners Season 4 where they all go to university or Inbetweeners Movie 2 showing them a couple of months on after the holiday with there new girlfriends. I would love for this to happen Inbetweeners is the best programme ever to go on tv.

Think its ran its course though, there's only so much you can do with a bunch of lads that age, and at that age you tend to drift apart.

I have heard that there is a amercian inbetweeners coming out its the same writers from the original series, but not sure when it is going to be out i have heard also that it is on MTV which im not sure is such a good thing.ST2

What are peoples all time top 5 US tv series all time? Mine are. 1 spartacus. 2 24. 3 the sopranos. 4 lost ( although the more I think about the ending the more it drops down the list) 5 prison break.

I thought Spartacus was australian? Or am i thinkin about somethin similar

Seen episode 1 of Homeland on C4 last night if its the same one, looked good.

Keep emaning to get into the wire.

Personally i blame C4 they get all these good US shows and then bury them in late night midweek slots which is not helpful if you have to go to college/ work. Its alright if your some stella swigging dweller who only has to get up for Jeremy Kyle, either watching or starring. But then they prefer to watch the dribble like big brother or pikey;s weddings that 4 seem to shove on at prime time instead.

I think you need a different dish they cost about £500 but u dont pay anything for the channels after. my mate got 1 and had non stop problems with it ended up ordering a sky dish and paying the monthly charges anyway

anyone watch supernatural? season 7 is worth watching, season 5 and 6 weren't too good IMO, the whole god and stuff kinda spoilt it.

5 was the best season. They should of ended it then...Not that I stopped watching.

I think the most ruthless warden was FERGUSON... Remember that bad a$$ B1tch :-). And what about the top dog - B .... HERBIE {Ed001's Note - I can't believe I used to watch that, it was terrible but compulsive viewing. I remember my uncle getting me to video it so he could watch it when he got in from work. The sets used to wobble and everything!}

Ed it has a massive worldwide fan base. I remember it use to come on at something like 3am, I use to set my alarm to wake me up for it :-), they don't make em like they use to.... HERBIE {Ed001's Note - I used to sit up to watch it, even though I had school the next day. I really don't understand why but it was like an addiction.}

Apologies if others have asked these questions before. Does anyone know if series 3 of V has been commissioned?
Not as good as the original which is an all time classic but the remake is still quality and I am hoping series 3 is made.

Also, anyone know if/when 'The Event' and The 'Killing' will return?

The event was cancelled after 1 season which was a shame as it was pretty good

The Killing, well the second series of the Danish version has been showing on bbc 3 else 4 can't remember which. And series 2 of the american version is coming out soon over there i think.

V who knows, think series 3 might be going ahead, waiting for series 2 to come on tv over here.

I'd suggest looking on sites like imdb.com or den of geek for news.

Did anyone out there watch Jerry Bruckhiemer's "Chase" on Sky Living? It's just ended & I've read that only one series was made! OK, the storylines weren't great but the action sequences were brilliant & Kelly Geddis was terrific in the lead role, (&what a sexy lady as well!) She's just joined the Law & Order SVU team for the latest series.

Bought a 3D TV yesterday, its brilliant!

Really recommend buying one if you ever have the money spare.

{Ed033's Note - Which make/model did you buy as with some 3D TVs / 3D glasses, the flickering is too much to bear.}

It's an LG, its pretty smart has built in web browser etc. At first i was struggling with the 3d imagery, but then realised i wasnt watching a 3d program lol. But yeah its quite good, im not sure of the model will have to check and get back to you.

It wont be long til they realease screens that glasses are not required for 3d tvs are in their infancy just now ... unless u can really afford it id wait til this wave i finished next year will be exciting for 3d tv, they are just scratching the surface just now.

Big difference tho somehow it also seems slightly sharper i think (my mate has the 50' samsung) couldnt tell u the model i has the red trim its excellent but i just cant justify the prices when i know new screens are round the corner

3d will fizzle out, it adds nothing to the movie experience. sports are supposedly good in 3d.

some great tv shows coming out of the states at the moment you can download or stream them well known sites they are

1.Homeland - about a Soldier who has been rescured from being captive in afcan for the lat 8 years - but could well have been turned into a terrorist

2.American horror story. - iam not a big fan of horror films in genral, but this is a great show about a family that moves into a haunted house who would of thought a horror show with good acting and beliveable chareters

3.person of intrest - only seen the pilot but looks really good as well.trying to prevent crimes before they happen a morden day minorty report stars Jim Caviezel

has anyone seen any of these shows? and does anyone know of any other great new shows?

and the shield will for me always be the best tv show ever made - brilliant never has a show had me so on the edge of my seat

The late Jon Pertwee for me, as he was the one I grew up watching, although David Tennant was quite good, too. Not sure on the latest one, haven't seen too many of the shows recently!
